You are not just House Hunting - you are Neighborhood Hunting too! It is important to remember finding a home is not just finding the perfect home at the perfect price. It also includes finding a neighborhood and the local community that will meet you needs and life style.

Before you go make a List. What characteristics are important to you in a neighborhood?. Some of the most obvious things to consider are:

Neighborhood Considerations...

* Commuting time to your employer.

* School quality and cost if a non-Public school is important to you.

*Community demographics (age, education, lifestyle)

* Community institutions that you feel are significant to either be close to or distanced from (e.g., places of worship, shopping centers, public transportation, entertainment.

* Population density and area type such as if you want a more urban,suburban, rural feel to your community.

 

*Crime rates

*Is there too much traffic or too much noise?

*Do you see signs of people improving or remodeling their homes?
